SharePoint Developers

Locations: Toronto, Ontario, Montreal Quebec & Vancouver, British Columbia

JOB SUMMARY:

As a Sr. Sharepoint Developer, you will design, develop, and articulate solutions based on a customer's strategic business or technical requirements. You will lead the implementation with responsibility for the delivery of the technical architecture designs, strategies, and quality assurance plans that will be delivered. We'll look to you to contribute to the development of strategies, policies, and best practices.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Build and articulate solution architecture for Microsoft Office SharePoint
  • Design framework for effective security, document taxonomy, document retention
  • Strong background working with Web Part Development.
  • Strong knowledge of technologies such as XML/XSL/XSD, web services and InfoPath
  • Must possess advanced knowledge of business workflows and have an in depth understanding of the capabilities of Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007, Windows SharePoint Services 3.0, Microsoft Reporting Services and SharePoint Designer 2007
  • Experience with SharePoint 2003/2007, (MOSS).NET 2.0/3.0, IIS, Windows O/S, ASP and ASP.NET. and supporting infrastructure components
  • In depth experience with Collaboration, Portals, Enterprise Search, Enterprise Content Management, Business Process and Forms, and/or Business Intelligence is required
  • Hands-on configuration/development experience with site definitions & features, & site customizations.
  • Strong application development background in custom application development and/or solution implementations
  • Strong organization, analytical, and problem solving skills
  • Strong technical leadership, analytical, estimating and decision making skills for creating and driving solutions from design to delivery on schedule
  • Strong documentation skills including experience writing Solution and functional specification
  • Excellent client facing and presentation skills
  • Team Leadership experience.


MUST HAVE SKILLS:

  • Prior consulting experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience with ECM technologies
  • Microsoft Certification

These qualified candidates will be part of the Client Services Team. This team is accountable for the efficient design and delivery of high quality software solutions that integrate with Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains software and other third party technologies. As a Software Developer, you will be accountable for tailoring software solutions, customizations, and enhancements for customers using Microsoft Dynamics GP.

Your primary duties will include: participating in customizations and modifications to business solutions design, development of high quality code, testing and analysis for operational functionality of solutions, and delivery of finished products and implementation on a time / services sensitive schedule.

The major challenges for the Software Developer are to add value to solutions and ensure the efficient delivery of products, and to provide maximum benefit to clients / customers through superior product design that automates their business processes.

The ideal candidate should be a:

  • Software Developer with 3 or more years of ERP software experience,
  • Software Developer with direct experience with SQL, C#, Dexterity, .NET, and related Windows applications,
  • An IT professional with knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics GP accounting software and a combination of the above.


Primary responsibilities:

  • Develop high quality code
  • Analyze customer requirements
  • Create functional design documents for new development projects
  • Develop code to our client's standards
  • Perform unit testing procedures to ensure quality of products
  • Prepare estimates for client contract negotiations
  • Develop user documentation/user guides
  • Produce project documentation
  • Train new software developers
  • Maintain a professional demeanour with a high regard to safeguarding confidential information
  • Service existing clients in an efficient, confidential, and polite manner


Experience required:

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics GP accounting software is a tremendous asset
  • Proficient with computers, self-directed when faced with support issues, and proficient in the use Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Outlook, Project and Internet Explorer
  • Exposure to Microsoft development tools (Dexterity, .NET, C#, MS Office, SQL Server, Sharepoint, and eConnect) is a tremendous asset
  • Experience producing reports and creating summary reports using Excel and/or Word
  • Experience in general principals of office management and knowledge of corporate practices and procedures is an asset
  • Outstanding organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects/tasks simultaneously
  • Must be able to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment along with the ability to manage multiple task in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to use independent judgment to manage confidential information
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting as required
  • Computer Science degree or five or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience with a software development related company is a desirable
  • Start-up experience preferred
  • Self-starter approach to work, with an eagerness to consistently meet and exceed objectives and take on more responsibility
