Product Lead & Customer Experience Position

Our client is seeking the following:

Full-time

Prerequisites:
- You must be a news junkie - someone who is up-to-date on current events an tracks news from multiple online sources
- You must be an active user of social networks - if you're not active on Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook or have your own blog, this role is not for you
- You must understand and be passionate about technology - you may not be a coder but you understand the fundamental technology required to develop
a website and work within an online publishing platform
- You must have experience using Website analytics to target performance and aide in decision-making
- You must have a demonstrated track-record of developing online products that exceed consumer expectations
-You must have previous experience in a leadership role, managing & developing talent and external partners
- You must have previous responsibility for portions of the P&L for an online business, with a solid ability to track and manage budgets

Duties:
- Assume overall responsibility for the product's customer-facing components (web site, premium service, mobile extensions)
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and daily management to the product team members (interface developers, designers)
- Foster the appropriate "start-up" culture (nimble, lean, innovative, entrepreneurial, collaborative, and success-driven) in all that you do
- Champion editorial best practices, encourage critical thinking, and maintain high standards to ensure a quality product at all times
- Work with company Founder/ CTO to develop an operation approach to product development which is streamlined and cost-effective and
facilitates both innovation and rapid execution of deliverables
- Identify and evaluate new business opportunities and creative directions for the product(s) that maximize user engagement, revenue, and/or fuel
rapid growth
- Write Product Requirement Documents (PRDs)
- Closely monitor competitive landscape, emerging revenue models, and product/technology innovation in the news category
- Participate in Advisory Board sessions

$80k to $100k plus benefits
